Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers are a non-invasive treatment used to restore youth and volume to the face. As we age, skin loses hyaluronic acid (a sugar molecule), which decreases skin volume and increases the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear. Fillers are an excellent treatment to restore volume and plumpness to lips, chin, cheeks, the jawline, acne scars, and the area under the eyes.

With a simple injection of fillers, you will notice skin improvements immediately after treatment. It is a simple, safe and painless way to knock years off your appearance. This will help you recapture a more youthful appearance and reduce signs of aging.

How Injectible Dermal Fillers Work

Fillers are a viscous gel composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), a non-animal, biodegradable and naturally occurring sugar found in the skin. It is the key component of the skin’s ability to attract and bind to water molecules, and therefore stay moisturized, helping to maintain a youthful appearance. Hyaluronic acid is effective for filling in wrinkles.

It gives volume to the skin, lubricates the joints and gives eyes their shape. HA fills the space between collagen and elastin fibres which replenishes the natural support layers lost with aging, while delivering essential nutrients and hydration and overtime, HA is gradually reabsorbed in the body.

The Treatment Process

The gel is injected into the targeted areas with a very fine needle. After the injection, the gel binds with the water in your skin and gives natural volume to smooth wrinkles. The gel also blends with adjoining tissues and allows other nutritive elements, like oxygen, glucose, and hormones, to pass between fragments of the gel. The result is instantly fuller, revitalized and plumper skin.

Treatment will provide immediate effect and results after a single session, and immediately following your treatment you can return to your normal daily activities. It is normal to experience slight redness and swelling near the injection site. There may also be some other minor side effects, such as slight pain or tenderness and some itching in that same area. The skin returns to normal one to two days after skin treatments such as under eye or cheek fillers, and up to a week for lip treatments.
