Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal works by applying intense pulses of light to the ink within your artwork, which breaks down and is removed by the immune system.

The PicoStar uses the most modern technology for the removal of tattoos, pigmented lesions and permanent makeup. Thanks to the highest energy and shortest pulses the treatment with the PicoStar is fast, gentle and does not leave any scars. It is one of the fastest and most reliable PICO systems on the market. The ultra-short pulses allow bursting the pigment particles without any thermal side effects or scars. This increases patient comfort and provides greater flexibility and efficiency.

What to expect from your treatment

Redness, swelling, slight blistering, a little itching, and raised areas are extremely common and should be expected after treatment. The skin will feel tender and sensitive at first. It should take a maximum of two weeks for all of these responses to treatment to subside.

Depending on the size of the tattoo you wish to remove you will need to schedule multiple session

Downtime

You may resume to most regular activities immediatley after treatment (avoid excessive excercise and heat sources for 3-4 days)

Aftercare

In the week following your treatment, we recommend keeping the area covered and not exposing it to direct sunlight till the area is healed.

FAQ

Unfortunately we cannot give a specific answer to this question. We will give you an educated guess based on the size and age of your tattoo but the biggest factor is the type of ink used. There are inks that break down incredibly easily and other inks that are very stubborn. Some clients tattoos are removed with one treatment others can take significantly more.

With the technology we use most colour inks can be removed. However there are inks like white and yellow that sometimes can be very stubborn or not possible to remove. On occasion due to the composition in certain (usually bright colours) inks they will not respond to laser treatment, this is rare.

In very simple terms the laser fires a intense pulse of light that travels through the skin and impacts with the ink causing it to break up into tiny particles. The bodies immune system then flushes these particles away resulting in the fading and removal of the tattoo.

With the high quality technology used we expect there to be no scarring however as with all treatments on the skin we can give no guarantees. The biggest risk to the skin is during the aftercare period. If the individual picks and scratches the skin then this can easily damage the skin and effect the results. If you look after and moisturise the skin regularly you get the best outcome.

why choose tattoo removal?

For some, there are certain tattoos that no longer represent the person they are today. They may have tattoos that are triggering or that take away confidence instead of inspiring it.

before your appointment

We ask that you are freshly showered or bathed with completely clean skin, without lotions, oils, creams or fragrances of any kind before coming in. If there is excessive hair in the treatment area, we recommend shaving the area prior to treatment. Avoid sun exposure to the treatment area, and do not use UV tanning beds at all for four weeks before treatment. The use of self-tanning skin care products must be discontinued 2 weeks prior to treatment, and any residual self-tanner must be removed in order to perform the treatment.
