Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are an easy, non-invasive option for skin rejuvenation. Our skin is comprised of three layers: the epidermis, the dermis, and the fat layer. Chemical peels primarily deal with the epidermis, blistering the upper layer, but can also penetrate the dermis layer. The surface skin loosens and eventually peels off, allowing new, unblemished skin to take the place of the older, dead and damaged cells.

What to expect from your treatment

Applied with expert knowledge and technique, clients are very pleasantly surprised at the level of change they see in just one treatment. Contrary to popular misperceptions, they leave with a healthy glow and smoothed skin – not with the flaming red and irritated skin typically associated with these treatments.

Appointment Time

Your appointment time will be between 30-60 minutes.

Downtime

While there is not much downtime, your skin will go through some changes. Your skin will likely appear red and irritated for the first 24 hours.
This is perfectly normal and a sign that your skin is starting to exfoliate as part of the post-chemical peel healing process.

On the second day minor flaking will start.

On the third day after your treatment, your skin will be quite sensitive and will peel substantially all over. This will continue fopr the next 3-4 days. We advise patients to avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF.

Aftercare

After the peel, it is important to keep the skin well hydrated. 7- 10 days post-treatment we recommend using a light moisturizer to help your skin heal and achieve maximum results.
While the skin is healing, you should avoid all sun exposure as your skin may be temporarily more sensitive to the sun. And even if it may be tempting, please refrain from peeling and picking your skin following the procedure.

why choose a chemical peel?

A light chemical peel improves skin texture and tone and lessens the appearance of fine wrinkles. The results are subtle but increase with repeated treatments. If you have a medium chemical peel, treated skin will be noticeably smoother. After a deep chemical peel, you’ll see a dramatic improvement in the look and feel of treated areas.
